Our story
About us
Kinu was born from the way Maria and Carlos experienced travel themselves, returning to the same destinations over time, understanding their rhythm, and discovering the quieter details that often remain unnoticed. What began through years of travelling together gradually evolved into a more intentional philosophy: that the most memorable journeys are shaped not only by where you go, but by how deeply a place is understood.
Defined by experience
Today, based between Dubai and Europe, they continue to build Kinu around destinations they know intimately and return to often. From boutique hotels and local restaurants to hidden beaches, sunset spots, and the details that rarely appear in guides, every journey reflects a more thoughtful and deeply personal way of travelling.
Why Kinu
Kinu reflects a sense of refinement, craftsmanship, and attention to detail — values that have remained deeply rooted in Japanese culture for centuries. Inspired by the Japanese word for silk, the name was chosen as a reflection of the way Maria and Carlos experience travel today: thoughtfully, intentionally, and with deep appreciation for the quieter details that define a place. Japan has long held a special significance for them, shaping not only the destinations they return to, but the philosophy behind Kinu itself.
